                KAVINADU YOUTH SPORTS CLUB

                             PUDUKKOTTAI.

Aim

     This club functions with the aim of training interested village sportsmen, sportswomen to enable them to represent the country in national level athletic meet and win medals to bring glory to the state and the nation.

            Kavinadu youth sports club was formally inaugurated on 9^th April 2006. At in option, there were 30 sportspersons got training.        At present, there are 90 sportsperson, representing several schools and colleges undergoing training. They are given egg,Milk,Chickpea     in the morning. In the evening, bread, Jam, Butter    and fruits are provided to them. Apart from that, during holidays they are provided  with meals.  The uniform required for training is provided thrice in a year,   canvas and spikes for running are also provided. Further,       summer coaching camp is conducted for 45 days every year. These sportspersons with their rigorous practice bring glory to Pudukkottai Dist, Tamilnadu and India.

                We are not only giving importance to the sports. By knowing the importance of the education, in the evenings, our athletes are given special coaching    for their studies.

            Our club has an international athlete, L. Suriya, who has represented our nation in the 3^rd Commonwealth Youth games held at    Pune in the year 2008. She represented our country in the 19^th Asian Track and Field Championship held at Kobe, Japan in July 2011 and    also represented India in the 5^th Asian Indoor Athletic Championship held at China in February 2012.

            Our club athlete K. Sakthivel represented our country in the World Peace Meet held at Sri Lanka last year and placed first in the 1500mts and 800mts.

Without enough support from the government and local bodies, our president, Shri. Ln. MJF. P. VR. Sekaran, continuing his service for   making interest in sports in the rural areas. Our coach Shri. S. Loganathan, also supporting him by giving free training to the athletes      along with his official works.
